The Team

LYCEE FRANCIS (Aurora, CO)

President

Without any intention of a career in recycling, Lycee was hired as Centennial’s Office Manager in 2007. With Joe as her mentor, Lycee fell in love with the recycling industry and began learning each area of the business. The transition into a leadership role came very naturally and Lycee was named President of Centennial Recycling in May 2013. Now she holds the responsibility of leading the business on a day to day basis and keeping the rest of our very outgoing group focused during meetings.

Lycee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication from Metro State University and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership & Applied Business Management at Colorado State University – Global Campus.

Lycee does not have free time…but if she did she would enjoy painting, going to movies, growing basil, playing board games, and decorating cakes for her nieces and nephew.

He returned in March of 2015 to a new role focused on the optimization of Centennial Recycling's processes in order to better serve the client base.

JOE FRANCIS (Centennial, CO)

Founder

Joe started his recycling career in 1986 as a sourcing representative for Weyerhaeuser Recycling in Northern California and transferred in 1990 to Texas to be a plant manager.

In 1994 he joined Rock-Tenn Recycling in Dallas and moved to the Denver area in 1997 to be the mill buyer for Republic Paperboard. When the Republic Mill closed he soon decided to leave the corporate world and started Centennial Recycling.

Joe’s background in plant management, mill buying, buying and selling commodities, export and domestic sales, and a strong recycling network of friends and business associates throughout the western United States provided him with the experience needed to succeed in the brokerage business.

Passing along the day to day responsibilities of Centennial Recycling onto the rest of the team, Joe transitioned into a less active role in the company and serves as a senior advisor. Joe and Coni, his wife of 40+ years, have 3 grown children, all married, and 4 grandchildren.

Joe is an avid skier, regularly works out, does some distance swimming and gets in some fishing and hiking.  With more time on his hands, he is doing more traveling for pleasure.  Joe is very active volunteering with youth from his church, and especially loves his “Papa Joe” time with his grandkids.

Joe graduated cum laude from California State University Fresno with a double major in Criminology and Recreation.
